Muslim activist groups are going apoplectic over a speech the pope made last week. Now they are “Demanding” an apology!

Let’s see here … it took hundreds of years for the church to apologize for Catholics church activities during the Crusades.

I hope they can be patient.

Muslims demand apology from Pope

Muslim leaders around the world are continuing to demand a full apology from Pope Benedict XVI after the pontiff said he regretted the furious reaction to his speech on Islam.

In his first public appearance since he made a speech last week — in which he appeared to endorse a Christian view that early Muslims spread their religion by violence — the pope said he was “deeply sorry” about the reaction and that medieval quotes he used on holy war did not reflect his own views.

So the Pope is sorry that the Muslims got mad about some stuff he said about Islam. Not sorry about what he said about Islam, mind you, just that sorry that the Islamic activists got so outraged. Oh! Then he reminds us that the church has been saying the same stuff about Islam for centuries.

Sorry indeed … Insincere? Or firm convictions? You decide.
